CPT Show/Race City Closing?/

London, Ontario (March 13, 2008) -

CPT Racing Experience Hits London This Weekend

The inaugural "CPT Racing Experience" comes to the London Convention Centre this weekend and the local open wheel groups and teams figure to have a strong presence. The Southern Ontario Sprints and Ohsweken Speedway will both have booths at the show, and Mark Sammut, Ryan Litt, John Watson, Daryl Turford, and Adam West are scheduled to be on hand to sign autographs and greet fans at times during the weekend.

Sammut and Litt will both have their cars on display at the show, along with former Southern Ontario Sprints competitor Ken Bayliss, who will have his car on display in the Ohsweken booth. Yours truly will also be there, working in the Ohsweken booth on Sunday, so stop by and say hello! For more info, visit http://www.cptrace.com. Hopefully I'll have some pictures from the show next week...

Race City Closing?

It appears that Race City Motorsport Park in Calgary is one of the casualties of the boomtimes out West, which is sad news for the Canadian short track racing community. What is really concerning is the apparently callous attitude that local officials seem to be showing towards their local motorsports community. In one year, the property assessment of the land the track stands on went from $3 million to $18 million.
